Ready to travel

We went to Michigan a couple of weeks ago and here are the girls getting ready to load in to the car. Everything that is important to a toddler.... bears, blankies, and the ever trusty fireman's hat.

Aren't these shirts adorable. One of Alex's China sister's family sent them in the mail. Thank you Amy, Matt, Jack, and Lily.

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY ALEX

My sweet little girl had her 4th birthday party this weekend. I can't believe she is 4 years old already. She is such a little sweetheart. She actually turns 4 on June 22. God blessed me with a daughter who shares my birthday. How amazing is that. I can't believe how she has grown. Here is a look back on all her birthdays starting with 4 and down to 1. Isn't she the cutest little thing? I will post some pictures from the party tomorrow.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX. YOUR MOMMY, DADDY, AND MEI MEI LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Fun Michigan Weekend

I took the girls up to see some friends in Michigan this weekend. We had a great time. We have know them for 14 years (before any of us had kids). It was a very special weekend since our friend Monte graduated from nursing school. We went to graduation, had a party, went to the local town festival, had a yummy chicken dinner at the firehouse, watched fireworks, ate s'mores, jumped on the trampoline, and had a wonderful time visiting our friends. Here are some pictures of all our fun. Todd was bummed he had to miss it.

Here are some funny things Alex said during the trip:

me: here is some apple juice
Alex: dat is my favorite.

Alex: Mommy, you look pwetty. I like your dwess.

while in the bathroom at graduation:
Alex: Mommy, I like your bwa.
me: Thank you Alex
Alex: Mommy, why you wear a bwa?
me: to hold my boobies in
Alex: oh-- me wear a bwa too?
me: when you are older. all the while I hear some lady snickering in the next stall
What will she come up with next.

I sing to them constantly. They love it.

Alex: Mommy sing dis song.
I start singing
Alex: Mommy, I like your voice.

Fun Michigan Weekend

Uncle Monte and Abby. She was a little leery of the cart at first so she had to ride in front of Uncle Monte but after the first trip around the yard she was good to go.
She loved her some Uncle Monte. She was his little buddy all weekend. She would just climb right up in his lap or put her arms out and he would pick her up and she was a happy camper.
Those kids loved that cart. He must have driven them around for an hour on Saturday.

Isn't she cute????

I took our sweet little Mei Mei to the pediatric opthamologist 2 weeks ago and he said she needed glasses. She has a really severe astigmatism and probably cannot see well at all. So here she is wearing them. She is doing great. She doesn't mess with them at all. Actually, she really seems to like them. Of course Alex wants a pair too. The doctor said she will get them soon enough.

Picnic with Friends

We had a little picnic with our local China group last weekend. The girls had a ball with Mia. Abby kept "see Mia" all morning. As you can see, they were ecstatic to hang out with each other. They even played a little tug-o-war. I love the funny expressions on all their faces.
